Champion short description:
Kalista – The Spear of Vengeance is one of the strongest earlygame champions in the Rift.
With every normal attack she is able to jump in a chosen direction through her passive – Warrior’s Grace. Due to her outstanding mobility and high damage potential in long fights through her extendable spears, Kalista can and wants to dominate and apply pressure in the laning phase.
However, this mobility is limited by slowdown effects. This is exactly why you, as Kalista, take the summoner spell “Purification” with you in every game. Kalista’s opponents will often confront her with the summoner spell “Exhaust”, which you can counter and remove.
Abilities such as Lulu’s W – Polymorph can also be removed with Purification to keep chasing your opponents and exact revenge!
Next to Draven, Kalista is the best pick to build a real lane kingdom where your opponents can only tremble in fear.
Kalista also starts the game with the “black spear”.
Kalista’s Q is Pierce. Kalista throws a narrow and fast spear that causes normal damage to the first enemy it hits. If Pierce kills its first target, Pierce continues and passes on all increases from E – Tear to the next target hit. This can happen an unlimited number of times until the spear reaches its maximum range. If there are several minions on low health points, you can throw Q – Pierce through them and lash all minions in one hit. This ability can also be combined with E – Tear.
Sentry is Kalista’s W. The active of the ability is to send a mobile sentry to patrol in a chosen direction. Champions detected by the sentry are revealed for 4 seconds.
The passive of W – Sentry is related to Kalista’s black spear. Kalista is equipped with this at the start of the game. In a process lasting several seconds, Kalista can connect with exactly one allied champion. In almost every case, this should be Kalista’s Supporter. If Kalista is in the vicinity of her Oathsworn, as the bond is called, normal attacks from both cause an increase in Soul Bond. If both attack the same target with normal attacks within 4 seconds, the affected target takes additional magic damage and can no longer be soulbound for 10 seconds. Soulbind deals at least 75 damage to minions and executes them if they are below 125 health. On champions at level 1, this ability deals 14% of their maximum life as magic damage.
Kalista Lanes can also win short trades using this ability and E – Rip.
Kalista’s normal attacks and Q – Pierce leave spears in the target. These persist for 4 seconds, with this timer resetting with each new spear added. With the ability active, Kalista rips the spears from all nearby targets to deal normal damage and slow them for 2 seconds. Spears after the first deal reduced damage, epic monsters only take half damage.
If Tear kills at least one target, the cooldown of the ability is reset and mana is refunded.
So how do we combine W and E in the laning phase for good short trades? Kalista prepares a minion by attacking it until E – Tear would kill it. Kalista then attacks the desired enemy champion at least once and activates E – Tear. As described above, she has up to 4 seconds to do this. With the normal attack, Kalista places the W – Passive Soul Covenant while dealing damage and slowing her target. This can then be triggered by a normal attack from the Supporter.
After this trade, Kalista and her Supporter can retreat or if it is profitable, seek the long fight and play for a kill. Thresh is recommended as the best Supporter for Kalista, as it provides both range to trigger the Soul Covenant damage and has crowd control effects in the kit.
With Kalista’s ultimate ability R – Call of Destiny, Kalista pulls her Oathsworn to her and puts it in stasis for up to 4 seconds. The Oathsworn can fly to the target location with a mouse click to stop at the 1st champion hit and throw all nearby enemies into the air. The Oathsworn then lands in a position between Kalista and the mouse click at maximum range for normal attacks. So if you are connected to a Leona, for example, she will land right next to them after the enemies have been thrown into the air. While Soraka, for example, as a champion with an average range, will land at a safe distance after throwing the opponents up with Kalista’s ultimate.
Kalista’s ultimate can be used as an Engage, but also to save your Supporter from a dangerous situation. Your supporter is free to choose where he or she wants to fly after you cast the ultimate on them.

Description Skill Order:
Kalista’s skill sequence is very simple. You start every game with your E – Tear.
At level 2, you prioritize Q over W in almost all cases.
W should only be chosen over Q if your Supporter and you are in a situation where you are already fighting and it will not be possible for you to hit Q – Pierce, but your Support and you can each land at least one normal attack on your shared target.
When you reach level 3, you always want to have all abilities skilled.
W – You should only delay Guard Post to level 4 if you are alone in the lane and your Supporter is playing the map when you reach level 3.
As usual, skill your ultimate at levels 6/11/16 and prioritize E>Q>W.

Description of the build path:
Kalista is a classic on-hit champion, which means that one or more abilities cause increased damage during an autoattack. To get the most out of this ability, we need a lot of attack speed and additional items to boost our hit effects. Crit, on the other hand, is never really needed.
