Malphite is probably the easiest tank in the game. And yet he is extremely effective, especially in the lower Elos. Due to his simple abilities, his extreme tankiness and damage that is worth seeing, he can easily hold a candle to most AD top laners. Since his abilities scale with Armor, he is especially strong against Bruisers and ADCs, but has big problems against AP champions. That’s why you probably shouldn’t pick Malphite blindly.

Description Skill Order:
There are MANY options for the skill order. You can maximize any skill depending on the situation, so let’s break it down a bit. Generally speaking, against ranged champions like Teemo, Quinn, Gnar or Jayce, you always maximize Q. This is because you can very rarely use the other abilities on your opponents because they can keep too much distance. However, if you are playing against Melee Autoattackers like Irelia, Jax or Olaf, then E is the best ability for the early game. This is because E can lower your opponent’s attack speed, allowing you to trade back excellently. However, if you’re playing against Melee Caster, which doesn’t necessarily do many autoattacks, such as Riven, Renekton or K’sante, then W is the right option. As you can see, there’s a lot you can do wrong with Malphite when it comes to skilling his abilities, but once you’ve played a few games with him, you’ll develop a good feel for which ability is best for which situation.
