Champion short description:

Amumu is probably one of the most suitable for starting out in the jungle role! He has pretty much everything a good jungler needs: a decent jungle clear, lots of crowd control and enough gapclosers for ganks. Amumu is also known for his strong ultimate ability, which can turn around entire teamfights with just one click. So if you want a stable all-round jungler with strong crowd control and good ganks or are simply looking for an uncomplicated champion for your jungle entry, then Amumu is just right for you!

Amumu makes up for his weak early game with strong power spikes in the midgame and good lategame scaling. In the later stages of the game, he can carve up teamfights with his hard engages thanks to his high tankiness and constant damage output or peel effectively with his large amounts of lockdow. One of his weaknesses is that he is mana-hungry and can easily be invaded in the early game. Ammu doesn’t do particularly well in duels and is too squishy when he falls behind the gold curve of the game. Furthermore, his success is dependent on his teammates dealing damage while he keeps opponents at bay with his crowd control. Amumu therefore synergizes excellently with champions such as Miss Fortune, Katarina or Ornn, who can follow up his engages with a lot of damage or even more CC.

Description Skill Order:

Amumu’s passive is “Cursed Touch” and causes his attacks to curse enemies that are hit, giving them additional absolute damage when they are hit by magic damage. As a result, Amumu not only increases his own damage output, but also that of his magically adept teammates.

With Amumu, you usually want to start with the W “Despair”, as this offers the maximum damage at level 1. Nearby enemies are overwhelmed by pain and lose a portion of their maximum life per second, and their curses are renewed by the passive. This ability is particularly good for dealing damage to jungle camps, epic monsters and tanky enemies. However, you usually maximize it last, as it is not your job as an Engage tank to shred the enemy frontline or Baron Nashor. Against teams with a particularly strong frontline, you can consider maximizing the W second.

At level 2 you skill the E “Rage”, as this not only provides you with some additional AoE damage, but also reduces the damage you take and is therefore also perfect for clearing the jungle. Amumus E’s cooldown is also reduced every time he is hit by an autoattack, which allows him to clear AoE camps like the Raptors very quickly. You maximize this ability first, as it is Amumu’s main source of damage and its cooldown also decreases with additional points.

Last but not least, skill up your Q “Bandage Throw”, as this enables your ganks. Amumu throws a sticky bandage at a target, pulls in, stuns them and deals damage. This ability is your primary gapcloser to get to your opponents and can also store 2 charges, so you can use it again after just 3 seconds if you have both activations charged. To have the mobility and stun of this ability available more often in fights, you should usually maximize it second, especially against champions who want to kite you.

Amumu’s ultimate ability is the “Curse of the Sad Mummy”, where Amumu wraps nearby enemies in bandages that transfer his curse, deal damage and stun them. This ability is Amumu’s most powerful weapon, allowing him to incapacitate an entire enemy team for 1.5 seconds in teamfights. A well-placed Amumu-Ult can single-handedly decide team fights and entire games. As usual, you level them up to levels 6, 11 and 16.

Combos: As already mentioned, Amumu is a relatively simple champ, which is why he only has a few combos.

You can buffer your R by pressing it as soon as your Q hits. This will cause the ult to be cast as soon as you’ve moved in on your opponent and they won’t have a chance to flash away.

Flash in Q/R [Q/R – F] : Like many champs, Amumu can also flash in his Q as well as his R. This means that you first use your Q or R and then immediately flash to cover a greater distance and surprise your opponent.

If your opponents hide behind minions during ganks so that you can’t land your Q, then you have the option to mite the minion away and clear the way for your Q.

Standard Teamfight Engage [Q – W – R – F – E – AA – Q – AA] : The combo starts by hitting an opponent with your Q so that you move close to many opponents. Then activate your W directly and flash your R into as many opponents as possible. Now use your E for maximum damage. Then find the most important target that you hit with your R, autoattack it, cast your second Q on this target and finish it off with more autoattacks and Es.

Items you can put on Amumu buy

Description of the build path:

Amumu is a classic tank jungler. This means that, as with tanks in other roles, we mainly need items that give us life, armor and magic resistance. However, we also need to clear the jungle properly, which is why items that also deal damage to nearby enemies are particularly helpful.
