Champion short description:
In SoloQ, you should play Lux in the support position like a mage in most cases. As an Enchanter, she is nowhere near as strong as other champions in this role. Instead, you should use her strengths – namely her strong poke damage and the ability to laser away the enemy bot lane with a hit Q together with the ADC.
Lux is especially deadly in combination with Caitlyn, as the two champions have incredibly good synergy. My general recommendation is to only blindpick Lux in combination with Caitlyn (i.e. if you don’t know who you’re playing against and can still be countered).
If you’re playing her with another ADC, you should play against Engage Supporters with more defensive runes, otherwise you’ll be far too easy to pick up. But more on that later!

Description Skill Order:
As a Lux support, we always want to invest around three points in our E so that we have enough poke damage in the laning phase. Whether you put the full five points into the E before you start maximizing the W depends on how well you can gain an advantage.
If you are ahead, you can also be dangerous to the opponent with a combo as a support – in this case, all five points in the E are worthwhile. Since our damage as a support – especially if we are not snowballing – can drop sharply in the midgame, it is worth maximizing the W after three to four points in the E in such cases. This way, you will bring a constant benefit to your team.
We always maximize Q last, as the duration of the root remains the same regardless of the level of the ability.
I will explain how to best use your abilities in more detail in the individual phases of the game. First of all, it is important that you trigger your passives as often as possible in longer fights. So don’t use your Q and E at the same time, but always use an autoattack in between when you are in combat to maximize your damage. However, if you’re not in autoattack range and you’re just pokéing, just use everything you’ve got! 😃

Items you can put on Lux Support buy
Description of the build path:
Lux is a classic Artillery Mage – that means you want to fight from a long distance. Therefore, we are very selfish in our item build and try to get as much AP, Magic Penetration and Ability Haste as possible.
However, if you want to play Lux in every game, you will often be countered by tank supports like Nautilus and Leona. In these cases, you should definitely forgo the classic AP build and instead build support items with tankiness so that you don’t simply die in an Engage.
This is also the moment when you should maximize your W after two points in the E. You can of course still play the AP build, but this is much riskier. For example, a well-known Lux OTP in Challenger EUW called DARKCHRI99 even goes for Aftershock against Melee Supporters to be tanky enough.
In this guide, I will mainly focus on the AP build, as Lux is the strongest here. However, you should know that the tanky variant plays much more aggressively and actively goes for catches with the Q that the team can follow up on. I have also listed the typical items for this variant under the alternative options.
