Champion short description:

Sett is the perfect champion for you if you want to be a real boss in both 1v1 duels and teamfights and take your skills into your own hands. As a juggernaut with high damage, solid CC and a lot of stamina, he can open fights himself, keep several opponents busy at the same time and give them a good thrashing.

He is strongest against tanks and squishy melee fighters such as Yasuo or Irelia, which he likes to use as a punching bag in lane. The biggest problems he has are with ranged fighters who can kite him effectively and champions who have even more damage and tankiness than he does in the early game.

Description Skill Order:

At level 1, you skill up your E so that you have the chance to draw in an unwary opponent and quickly win a short trade with 2 autoattacks. With your E, you should note that the ability’s hitbox is slightly longer if you cast it slightly diagonally to your opponent. This allows you to surprise opponents who think they are just out of your reach. With the first level-up in the lane, you can then use your Q to make the whole thing even easier and more effective. The additional running speed of the Q makes it easier to get into range for your E. If an opponent gets too close on their own, it’s even better for you, as you can first give them 2 autoattacks after the E and then use your Q as an autoattack reset to immediately follow up with 2 more autoattacks. When trading autoattacks in melee matchups, make sure that Sett always alternates between hitting first with his left fist and then with his right. The right fist strike deals more damage and has extra range. If you activate your Q, both punches have more range. This little bit of extra reach allows you to kite easily between autoattacks. Sometimes you can end a trade this way by hitting with your left, then running away and following up with a right punch with the extra reach that your opponent can no longer answer. Also note that you can CC your opponents almost instantly with a Flash-E and that they will be stunned in addition to being pulled in if you hit opponents on both sides of your E (minions count for this too!). You can use this combo to catch enemies or finish them off.

At level 3, you skill up your W for the first time, which you can use from now on to turn dicey situations in your favor or to end trades advantageously. The most effective way to use your W is when you have taken a lot of damage, when your ardor is fully charged and when you can hit several opponents for massive area damage. Sometimes this is not possible because you would die first, in which case you should use your W for the shield so that you can escape or at least do as much damage as possible. You can also use your W to finish off fleeing opponents. It is particularly useful that you can flash your W while channeling so that your damage is dealt at the new position. You can of course also use this trick in teamfights to hit as many opponents as possible with your W. Another way to use your W in a teamfight is to use it right before you get hit by CC. This way, the shield absorbs damage while you can’t defend yourself. It’s also worth mentioning that by stunning your E, you can guarantee that you hit the center of your W for absolute damage.

Your order of maximizing abilities is Q>W>E. For all abilities, the cooldown reduces with additional levels, but your Q gives you the best damage output because the percentage damage increases depending on the enemy’s life. It is also very convenient to have the additional movement speed available more often. You max the W second so that you have the shield available more often. You can safely maximize your E last, as the duration of the CC does not increase.

Of course, you should always skill the Ult if you can. It has various uses and your use of ult is crucial to your success as a Sett player. First of all, you can use it to grab an enemy tank and throw them into the team behind them. In addition to massive area damage, this is also a good Engage that your team can hopefully follow up on. An R-E combo as Engage followed by a charged W can single-handedly decide some team fights. If you don’t want to engage the whole enemy team, but just want to pick off a single opponent, you can also use the ult as an Insec. To do this, you have to get behind an enemy and then lure them into your team. You can do this by running towards him with your Q, catching him with your E and then dashing or flashing behind him with the active from your chicane. The Insec can be particularly effective in situations where you’re not fighting front-to-back, but instead joining the fight via a teleport flank and running into the opposing team from the side or from behind. If you come from behind, you can also ult the opponent directly and then use your E as an additional CC. Your ult is also suitable for effectively finishing off opponents, as it deals a lot of damage. However, you are not always able to save your ult until an opponent is weakened enough to finish them off. You must therefore always consider how you can best use your ult in each situation. Last but not least, you can cancel CC with your ult, as you are unstoppable during the ult animation.

Description of the build path:

Sett is a bruiser who scales primarily with AD and life. Life is especially essential with him because his W shield and thus the damage from the ability scales with Sett’s maximum life. Since his W is his main source of damage in later teamfights, life stacking can be a good strategy to be a big threat with Sett in the lategame as well.
