Champion short description:
Alistar, ‘The Minotaur’, is a very simple but versatile supporter that fulfills the tank fantasy perfectly due to his ult. You can use Alistar to defend your team as well as initiate great team fights with Flash. He is an excellent support for beginners, as he is not mechanically demanding and you can therefore focus on the macro game (strategy).
Unfortunately, the rune shards have not yet been updated, but I have adjusted the position of the runes you should select anyway. You should select ability speed +8 (right) in the first row, running speed +2% (center) in the second row and +65 life (left) in the third row.

Description Skill Order:
Alistar’s passive ability “Victory Cry” (P) lets him collect stacks every time a nearby minion or jungle monster dies. At 7 stacks, he lets out a cry that heals him. Nearby allies are healed by double the amount. If an epic monster (Herald, Dragon, Baron Nashor) or a nearby champion dies, it immediately triggers a healing cry.
With “Pulverize” (Q), Alistar throws all enemies in his vicinity upwards for a second while he deals magic damage to them.
With “Headbutt” (W), Alistar flies towards a selected opponent, throws them backwards and deals magic damage.
While flying towards the opponent with your W, you can use your Q to get close to the opponent and then throw them up with your Q. The combo negates your W being thrown away, allowing you to throw up multiple targets standing near your main target. This classic combo is known as the alistar combo or simply the combo. The combo is a miniature version of the Malphite-Ult and represents your Engage (initiating a fight).
Alistar’s trample (E) deals damage to nearby enemies twice per second for five seconds. Each damage stick gives him one stack, and at 5 stacks, his next autoattack will stun the enemy for one second. If you start your autoattack animation while you have four stacks, you will get the fifth stack during the animation and be able to stun the enemy a little earlier.
“Indomitable Will (Ult) frees Alistar from any form of crowd control effects when activated and gives him a very high percentage damage reduction for 8 seconds. So during the duration you are not easy to kill and can easily survive after your initiation.
So your combo looks like this: Activate E -> combo -> start autoattack at 4 stacks, ulte at any time if needed. You will use this combo 90% of the time. I’ll go into the other 10% in more detail later in the guide. Just make sure that you don’t get stunned in flight during your combo, because then of course you can no longer use your Q and you open up a possible escape route for your opponent. We’ve all been there: an Alistar who wants to combo a Taliyah who has her E in front of her. Unfortunately, this never ends well for the poor sow (cow)
The rune shards have not yet been adjusted. However, I have chosen the right position so that it matches the right runes. So if the rune on the far right is selected here, you can do exactly the same!

Description of the build path:
Alistar is a classic tank-engage support. This means that we need tank items that give life and resistances, but they also have to help our team somehow, because it’s no good if an Engage support simply survives for as long as possible as long as the team simply dies. Accordingly, we mainly want to access the tank support items whose effects help our teammates to survive longer.
