Champion short description:
Aurelion Sol “The Starsmith” is the best scaling midlaner in the entire game. The reason for this is that not only does his damage get better, but how easily he can apply his damage. His abilities get more and more range and damage through a stacking system within his passives and it’s also very easy to hit his abilities. That should mean that he has a very weak early game as compensation, right? No, quite the opposite!
In this guide, you’ll find out how to play his early levels and even manage to exert pressure. Have fun!

Description Skill Order:
Passive “Cosmic Creator”: Aurelion Sol collects permanent stacks (called stardust) that improve his abilities. How his abilities are improved and under which special conditions he receives stacks is explained in the skills themselves.
Q “Focused Light”: Aurelion channels a focused beam at his opponent. This beam deals the most damage to the first enemy hit and 50% damage to nearby enemies. For every second an enemy is continuously hit, they receive an additional burst damage, a fixed value + a percentage value depending on the amount of stardust they have collected. Each successfully procced burst damage on a champion also gives him two more stacks for his passives. At the beginning you can channel the beam for a maximum of 3 seconds, from 5 points in the Q (i.e. from level 9), this limitation is removed and you can shoot your laser for as long as you like. That’s why we maximize the Q as quickly as we can. By the way, the range of the Q scales with your level and at level 18 you can even reach a range of 920 (270 more than a Caitlyn)
W “Astral Flight” : Aurelion can fly over walls in a certain direction. While doing so, he can use all his abilities without interrupting the flight, even if you slow down while using your Q or E. You can also interrupt this ability by simply right-clicking. The range increases depending on your stardust. In the lategame, you can even fly across the entire map. But that’s not all. When you use your W, the cooldown of your Q resets. In addition, the W contains a passive that increases your Q damage percentage when you are in flight. Therefore, we will also maximize the W second, with one small exception.
E “Singularity” : Aurelion summons a black hole that deals damage for 5 seconds and pulls enemies into the center. Enemies in the center of the circle are directly executed under a percentage limit. This limit is very helpful when farming and later becomes so high that it can also be used on champions. The execution limit and size of the black hole also increases with the number of passive stacks. In addition, you will receive 2 stardust for every champion, cannon minion and large monster executed by the E and 1 stardust for every small monster and melee or ranged minion. In addition, Sol gains the same number of stacks for every second a champion spends in the center of the singularity (even though this interaction rarely happens). This ability eventually becomes huge, making it almost impossible for opponents to play team fights. We invest an extra point in the E at level 8, as we then have just enough damage to farm all minions with E and Q and collect the stardust with the E at the same time.
R “Starfall” : Aurelion drops a star on the ground that stuns enemies in its radius and deals damage. Aurelion Sol receives 5 stardust for each champion hit. As soon as Aurelion has collected 100 stardust, his next ultimate ability is upgraded to “Collapse of the Heavens”.
R “Collapse of the Sky”: Aurelion Sol drops a giant star from the sky, much larger in radius than the normal Ult “Starfall”, dealing more damage and knocking up all enemies instead of stunning them. This is followed by a huge shockwave over a large part of the Summoner’s Rift, which also deals damage and slows. The sizes of both versions scale with the amount of stardust, with Sky Collapse growing faster in size. This ability is the most visually beautiful and satisfying in the entire game.
So to summarize, Aurelion gets stardust over:
- Each burst on champions triggered by the Q gives 2 stacks
- Each champion or cannon vassal executed with the E gives 2 stacks
- Each melee or ranged vassal executed with the E gives 1 stack
- Each small monster executed with the E gives 1 stack (big ones give 2)
- Each standard cult (“Starfall”) gives 5 stacks
Stardust improves the following aspects:
- Percentage damage of the triggered burst of the Q
- Range of the W
- Size and execution threshold of the E
- Size of both versions of the ultimate ability

Description of the build path:
Aurelion is a special control mage who is particularly strong in the lategame. His Q and Ult synergize especially with AP items that slow down the opponent and deal damage over time. You don’t necessarily need ability speed, but magic penetration becomes important later on.
