Champion short description:

Syndra is a controlmage (control mage) and brings both burst damage and good DPS. Her clear weakness is the early game, when she mainly wants to concentrate on farming and can’t yet have much influence on the game. This weak phase usually only lasts until around lvl 7, at which point she becomes very dangerous. She has extremely high AP scalings (ability power scaling) which makes her one of the best lategame mages in the game.

Only a few controlmages have enough damage and the necessary DPS to carry games single-handedly. However, Syndra is one of them, making her a highly recommended champion if you want to carrien games and enjoy playing mages. She’s also not too difficult to learn, making her recommended for less experienced players.

Syndra can also move while using her key abilities, which makes positioning with her even easier. She also has strong CC (crowd control effects) and can defend herself very well against any type of champion.

Description Skill Order:

Before I go into the skill order, let’s start with Syndra’s passive ability. Syndra collects splinters over the course of the game and at 40, 60, 80, 100 and 120 splinters she improves her abilities. She receives 5 splinters with every skill point she distributes. She receives a splinter from each cannon minion and if she hits an enemy champion with 2 different abilities, she also receives a splinter. She also gets mana back when she gets splinters (excluding the 5 splinters per level). The majority of splinters are therefore collected automatically via level ups, which is why it is important to lose as little experience as possible.

40 splinters: Syndra receives two charges on the Q.

60 Splinter: Syndra’s W deals additional absolute damage.

80 Splinter: Syndra’s E becomes wider and greatly slows enemies.

100 Splinter: Syndra’s Ult executes targets below 15%.

120 Splinter: Syndra gains 15% additional ability power.

As you can see, Syndra’s passives give her extremely strong bonuses that scale well into the game.

Syndra’s Q creates a dark sphere at the target location that deals damage and remains in place. We maximize this ability first.

Syndra’s W picks up a dark sphere, minions or jungle camps. The absorbed target can carry Syndra with them for a while and cast it on a point to deal damage when the W reactivates. We maximize this ability second.

Syndra’s E pushes all enemies away from Syndra. If there is a dark sphere in the way, it will also be thrown away over a much greater distance and stun all enemies hit.

Syndra’s ult throws all dark spheres at an opponent, causing damage. Since 3 spheres always fly around Syndra, she always throws at least 3 spheres.

Description of the build path:

Syndra is an AP burst mage, but also has good constant damage due to her low cooldowns. This means we mainly need AP and either a lot of ability speed (Ability Haste) if we want to deal a lot of constant damage, or Magic Penetration if we want more burst. Items with % movement speed are also useful as they allow us to position ourselves better and compensate for our lack of mobility. As a third or fourth item, we recommend a little magic penetration so that you can also do something against opponents with some magic resistance.
